I don't think he was overrated at Everton. I think he did very well, worked hard, caused no obvious problems although playing for a team that was fighting relegation or close enough. Would he improve us, of course he would. The question is if...

Maybe because we are trying to sign better players whose clubs will not sell easily. I have seen the promoted clubs bringing in lots of players, mostly ones I haven't heard of and quite a few from weaker leagues.
