We do ask that all visitors follow our relatively laid back guidelines to ensure these forums remain user-friendly.

One being;

p) Poor, profane or obscene language of any type is not welcome - even in jest.

Bad language or Profanity negatively impacts our Search Engine Ranking, puts us at risk of losing our advertising income and above all, it sours the atmosphere of the forum.

Of course, most will make the occasional slip up. But repeat offenders (and by definition of repeat - clearly fail to show any respect to the community) will find infractions mount up to an eventual suspension.

Cheers.

Gents - I think the point is, by all means swear at the screen in the comfort of your own homes, but not with the keyboard.

The site rules are very clear and there will be a continued policy of adhering to the rules.

The amount of warnings I've dished out for language alone lately is getting ridiculous, and if I'm giving warnings out, you can bet your life that other staff are too.

Do we come round your gaff and spray paint swear words on the walls? No, so can the keyboard swearing stop? It will impact revenue for the site that you are using free of charge.

Thanks.

It's pretty ridiculous that swearing is forbidden anyway. It's an Internet forum, not the House of Lords.

Sorry mate, but you are entirely wrong. The no swearing rule allows you to have free access to this site. The site's costs which are substantial have to be met by advertising revenue which can be directly impacted by profanities.

Besides it should not be too hard for adults to be able to type without swearing.

Clean swearing is more fun and creative anyway

You can replace the F word with "Fudge" etc

Still get your point accross, but in a way that doesn't harm the forum

This does not condone having a go at people like, but exclaiming "Jebus Crepes!" when someone scores a good goal, that's just clean fun
