Too many people are getting overly worked up over when the axe will fall and how it'll be handled.
In respect of th pre-game press conference, if the club are as some/many suspect and @The Esk implies are keeping the manager out of the media glare, then they'll simply get somebody else to take it in his place and my guess would be Duncan Ferguson.
Why do I say Ferguson, simply because he is not one of the inner Martinez circle... and as such would be exempt from getting a grilling from the media who will most likely be briefed that questions about the manager are not welcome in view of the board meeting on Saturday and the club wanting to make the outcome of that clear in their own time scale.
The media will be asked/told to keep all questions to Ferguson/whoever strictly to the players and the Bournemouth game itself as nothing else will be answered.
Press conferences of this nature can be managed effectively if the clubs media representatives are firm, but fair in the manner the limits of the conference are explained.
