Coleman: Confidence ‘Sky-High’ For The Derby

Seamus Coleman believes Everton are brimming with confidence ahead of the highly anticipated Merseyside Derby at Anfield on Sunday.

The Irish winger has enhanced his reputation rapidly this season with the Toffees, and he is looking to take his goalscoring form into next weeks game against Liverpool.

Coleman feels that Everton do not have to worry about how Liverpool will play, rather that they should focus on how the Blues will damage the opposition.

"Saturday´s win was exactly what we wanted going into the derby," said the 22-year-old. "We´ve beaten Spurs and now Scunthorpe and that´s what we wanted going into what promises to be a tough game.

"Maybe Liverpool and their fans will be more up for the game now they have a new manager but it will not change anything towards how we approach the game, we can only worry about ourselves. We just need to prepare well this week.

"Like we did against Spurs, we need to push and press Liverpool early on and don´t let them get their heads up."

The Irishman scored his third goal in four games against Scunthorpe in the FA Cup 3rd Round, and insists that he is developing his newly allocated right wing position even further with each game he plays.

"I´m on a nice little run now with goals and up until this season I wasn´t really a goal scorer.

"I´m starting to enjoy playing on the wing more and more. I´m learning every week because I´m nowhere near being the finished article but I´m learning the role more and getting a few goals is always good."
