Everton are ready to make a £750,000 swoop for Preston shot-stopper Andy Lonergan, as Moyes looks for competition for the goalkeeper position at Everton, according to the Daily Mirror.
Moyes gave the 27-year-old his debut at Preston whilst manager at Deepdale, and with Jan Mucha expressing his disillusionment at Goodison, it appears the Everton boss has moved swiftly to cover his possible departure in the summer.
The Mirror are saying that Everton will offer reserve ´keeper Iain Turner on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent transfer as part of the deal.
Lonergan is a highly-rated ´keeper who has been an integral part of Preston´s starting line-up, and once scored a goal from his own penalty area in 2004..
