The opening game of the season between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at White Hart Lane has been postponed due to the violence on the streets of London in the last week.
Police have been unable to issue a safety certificate for the match, effectively taking the decision out of the hands of the London club.
Everton will now kick off the season at home against Queens Park Rangers on the 20th of August.
