Bookie Preview vs Norwich

There were no complaints from David Moyes after last weekend’s defeat, either regarding the result or the performance of his players and if they put in the same kind of shift against Norwich he’ll be expecting a more positive result this weekend.

The Canaries come to Goodison Park having won just once away from home this season and thought hey have an admirable draw against Liverpool to boast against, they have their keeper and the Reds’ profligacy to thank for that result. They’ve conceded eight goals in their last two away games and though their attacking philosophy is commendable and results in plenty of entertainment for the fans, away from home it is proving less fruitful. David Moyes will be hoping they maintain their open attacking style, confident that his defence can hold them out whilst having space to exploit going forward.

Louis Saha made some positive comments in the press midweek and has expressed his determination to help move Everton up the table. He certainly has the pace to get in behind the Norwich backline and is a decent 9/2 to score first. Bets on Cahill at 5/1 to score first are still very much in the “he has to do it sometime” category. Will this be the game? Fellaini at 15/2 and Osman at 8/1 are also worth a look but an interesting bet is McAleny to score last at 13/2. If he doesn’t start he’s sure to feature at some stage. The youngster impressed in his debut, coming very close to nabbing an equaliser and certainly looks an exciting prospect.

Norwich are a real threat coming forward but do leave space at the back, especially away from Carrow Road, so backing the clean sheet is riskier than usual however Everton to win 2-1 at 13/2 does look a good bet. The home side are 8/13 to win, if they are solid at the back and can take a few of the chances they’re sure to create then we might get a smile from David Moyes on Match of the Day. Maybe.
