David Moyes has confirmed Everton have held talks with Cliftonville regarding a potential transfer of striker Rory Donnelly.
Reports earlier in the week claimed Everton, Brentford and Swansea were preparing bids for the promising 19-year-old, who has scored 17 goals this season.
Yesterday, Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor confirmed Liverpool had made an approach and now David Moyes has went on record to confirm that Everton are in talks.
Moyes: “We are in there trying to see what the situation is (with Rory Donnelly.
I think the chairman has spoken to the chairman there and we are in and around that one”.
The Everton manager also moved to dismiss recent media reports linking Chelsea with a £20m bid for Jack Rodwell.
“I have had no offers, no contact from Chelsea – there would not be any other words I could add to that,”
“There is nothing from me. We´ve had no phone call.”
“We´ve always said if anyone wants to bid for the players we can´t stop that happening but what we do do is sell expensively,” he said.
“If we are sellers we are always expensive sellers.”
