Steven Pienaar has sensationally rejoined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur in a last-gasp deal on transfer deadline day.
The 29-year-old midfielder was a hero at Everton after forming a powerful partnership on the left side of midfield with Leighton Baines.
Affectionately nicknamed “Peanuts” by the Everton fans, he made a move to Spurs last year but his time in London has been a disaster, with the South African making only a few appearances from the bench and even fewer starts.
It looked as if the prospect of Pienaar rejoining the Toffees had fell through after Spurs boss Harry Redknapp missed out on Juventus star Milos Krasic. However, Pienaar made it clear to Redknapp that he no longer saw his future in London and wanted to return to Merseyside where he had a sparkling career.
The full details of the transfer are as of yet unknown, but it is likely to be a loan to buy deal.
