Former Bayern Munich utility man Danijel Pranjic is moving closer to completing his long awaited move to Everton.
The 31-year-old, who was in action for his native Croatia during Euro 2012, was on the verge of a move to Merseyside in January before Bayern Munich pulled the plug at the last minute.
But after being watched by Moyes during a scouting mission during Euro 2012, Everton have rekindled the interest in the Croatian international and are moving to secure his services on a free transfer. His signature may be secured by next week when he returns from his post-Euro 2012 holiday.
Pranjic confirmed the Toffees interest during an interview with Croatian sports media Sportske Novosti, where he said, “I am honoured that such a successful coach wants to sign me, and would be honoured to play for a club like Everton with such a rich history.
“We were very close to completing a deal in January, but then Bayern prevented it going through. I can´t say that everything is finished, but next week I´m expecting some concrete developments.”
The move is not linked to ongoing speculation regarding the future of Leighton Baines.
