This weeks Voice in the Crowd features mad blue and avid GrandOldTeam.com reader Kenny Birchall.
Kenny, 36 and hailing from Garston, gave some colourful answers that I’m sure most of us would agree with. Such is his dedication to the blues he declined to have his photograph featured in this article, instead insisting I use a shot of Duncan Ferguson!
How long have you been an Everton Fan?
Kenny Birchall: Since I was conceived!
How did you become an Evertonian?
KB: I was born! Everyone knows Evertonians are born and not manufactured.
Strangest thing you’ve ever seen at Goodison Park?
KB: I remember once a Staffordshire Bull Terrier got on to the pitch. Was it David Unsworth who caught it?
Your favourite player (and why)?
KB: Big Duncan Ferguson. He was unplayable on his day and his love for Everton and the Everton fans was there for all to see.
Who is the greatest player to have ever played for Everton in your lifetime?
KB: Best players would be Graeme Sharp, Peter Reid, Andrei Kanchelskis and Big Dunc.
….And the worst player?
KB: Claus Thomsen, Brett Angell, Paul Holmes.
If you could sign any player for Everton in January?
KB: I won’t answer that – In Moyes We Trust!
Since you have been following Everton, what would your best eleven be?
Kenny Birchall:
GK. Neville Southall
RB. Gary Stevens
CB. Kevin Ratcliffe
CB. Derek Mountfield
LB. Pat Van Den Hauwe

If you could change one thing about football, what would it be?
KB: I would put a cap on players’ wages.
Pineapple on Pizza?
KB: Too right!
That’s two yeses to pineapple on pizza in successive Voice in the Crowd’s! So watch out, next week it could be your voice in the crowd.
