Everton boss David Moyes was left seething with referee Jonathan Moss after his side´s 1-1 draw with Q.P.R. this afternoon.
Blues´ midfielder Steven Pienaar was sent off for two bookable offences. Whilst Moyes could have no complaints about the first yellow card, the second was extremely harsh. Jose Bosingwa went down under pressure from Pienaar, but there appeared to be little or no contact between the two.
Moyes argued, “to send a player off under those circumstances is a ludicrous decision”
“We had the same referee against West Brom. He didn´t perform well on that day, he didn´t perform well today.”
Despite this disappointment the Everton manager went onto praise his team´s resilience in holding on for a point. He singled out the performance of Phil Jagielka, saying he “played like a true England centre-half today”.
Moyes will be hoping that Everton´s luck with refereeing decisions changes in next week´s Merseyside derby with Liverpool.
