Iconic Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has insisted that he believes the Toffees have the squad quality to challenge for Champions League qualification.
The 24-year-old has become hot property on the world footballing stage after a series of impressive, high profile performances for Everton, but rather than automatically look for a move to an established Champions League club, the Belgian believes he can achieve his ambitions at Goodison Park.
“We´ve got some very good players here, but if we can bring in one or two more in January then it will be a big, big help,” said Fellaini.
“There is a lot of quality in the team, and a lot of ambition, and I hope Everton will finish in the top four.
“I want to [play for Everton in the Champions League]. I want to improve as a player, and I want to give everything for Everton.
“They brought me here from Standard Liege and gave me my chance to play in the Premier League, and I always want to repay them for that.”
However, Fellaini has hinted that he is not prepared to wait forever for the Blues to qualify for Europe´s elite competition, and may be forced to look elsewhere if Everton fail to meet his lofty ambitions.
“I know I have my special look with my big hair, but I play football, and being good enough to play in the Champions League is what I want to be known for.”
