Marouane Fellaini has issued a full apology to Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross, after headbutting the player in today´s 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium.
The Belgian was involved in a tussle in the Stoke City penalty box ahead of a free kick, with the Stoke man holding on to Marouane´s shirt whilst marking him. Fellaini responded with a thrust of his head into the face of Shawcross – an action that was not seen by referee Mark Halsey, or his team of officials.
Everton manager David Moyes immediately chastised the actions of the Everton midfielder in post match interviews, and now the player himself has came out and admitted he was in the wrong.
It remains to be seen whether any retrospective action will be taken by the FA over the incident.
