Paddy’s Preview: vs Stoke

Everton will go joint-third in the Premier League table on Saturday if they beat Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.

The Toffees last-gasp 2-1 win at home to Spurs last weekend has set them up for a big push for the Champions League qualifying places with the fixtures coming thick and fast over Christmas.

Paddy Power make Everton their 11/8 favourites to pick up all three points away to Tony Pulis’ side with a repeat of the 2-1 score priced up at 17/2 in their online betting.

Two stoppage-time goals by Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic lifted David Moyes’ side back into the top four and Paddy Power make Everton 4/1 shots to end the season in a Champions League qualifying place.

“If we hadn’t won we’d have been saying ‘How not?’ because we played terrifically well, especially in the first half with Kevin Mirallas and Seamus Coleman,” Moyes said.

“We just couldn’t find the final pass or touch to finish it off but we got there in the end.”

Pienaar is 11/1 in the first goalscorer betting or 4/1 to score at anytime against the Potters while Jelavic is 7/2 in the first to score for their team market as he looks for his seventh goal of the campaign.

Moyes may have to plan without Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas who limped off with a recurrence of his hamstring problem in the win over Tottenham but Seamus Coleman should be fit enough to play.

The Toffees drew 1-1 in this fixture last season thanks to a Peter Crouch own goal and its 5/1 with Paddy Power that the score is repeated on Saturday while its 8/13 that there are under 2.5 goals.

Paddy Power are offering 22/1 that the first score of the game is an own goal while an anytime own goal is priced at 17/2.

Everton had to battle hard to come from a goal down against the Londoners last weekend and are 12/1 to come from behind and win against Stoke.

Marouane Fellaini was named the Barclays League Player of the month on Tuesday in recognition of his four goals and two assists in November.

The Belgian international is 15/2 to get the opening goal of the game and 11/4 to score at anytime in the goalscorers’ market as he bids to take his seasonal haul to nine this weekend.
