Everton´s Reserve Team Coach Alan Stubbs has sought to offer some clarity on the future of Everton Manager David Moyes.
Speaking in February David Moyes insisted he would not commit his future to the Club until the end of the season, explaining “I´ve spoken with the chairman and I want to see how the team do. I want to see how we do in the cups and the league and it is more than likely that I won´t make a decision until the end of the season”.
But, speaking to TalkSport, Alan Stubbs thinks Everton´s finish to the season will prove irrelavent as to whether David Moyes remains at Everton.
Alan Stubbs: “It’s irrelevant where Everton finish in terms of whether David Moyes stays. The manager would love to finish in fourth place because that would get them into the Champions League.
“But the decision is more off the pitch rather than on the pitch. It will be about his budget. He’ll want assurances about what players get sold and the amount of money that he’ll get to spend from those transfers.
“He wants to see the direction that the club is taking before he commits his future to it. It’s a crossroads for the board as well, not just the manager.”
