Everton have rejected a farcical £28m joint bid from Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.
The bid is believed to value Fellaini at £16m and Baines at £12m, valuations which have angered both fans and Everton as being derisory and disrespectful.
Man Utd manager David Moyes is risking destroying his previously strong relationship with his former Club, by intentionally making an approach believed to have been designed to unsettle Everton’s prized duo.
As Everton manager, Moyes signed Fellaini in 2008 for £15m, rising to £17.5m in additional payments. Man Utd´s bid would unbelievably suggest the 25-year-old´s value to have deceased during his years in the Premier League.
As for Baines, Everton Manager Roberto Martinez confirmed a bid for the England left back, believed to be for a pitiful £12m was rejected earlier in the summer and considered the matter closed. Man Utd don´t seem to have got the message…
