Late Transfer Deadline Drama For Blues

It was last minute dealing as we left it late in our transfer moves on Transfer Deadline Day.

As expected Marouane Fellaini completed a transfer to Manchester United but for reportedly £27m and it would seem Victor Anichebe has moved to West Brom for around the £5m mark.

Amongst the hysteria it was phoenix from the flames stuff as Everton signed Gareth Barry and Lukaku on loan, and the permanent signing of James McCarthy for around £13m with all three players confirmations coming within a ten minute spell around the 11pm deadline.

The bones will be picked out of it over the next week or so until an important game against Chelsea, complete with those little jarg formations that internet nerds like to do.

In the midst of what is essentially a media driven soap opera for men it could have been much worse. We certainly made some profit this summer so financially it was good business but its success will only be able to be judged on the pitch over the forthcoming season.

A pleasant post-note, akin to a wee nip of single malt before bed, is that somewhere someplace in an L postcode now there will be Leighton Baines sleeping tight in an Everton onesie and having sweet dreams of Jools Holland being pulled up by Operation Yewtree and his late night show being ceremoniously passed to him to fill in.

Before that you´ll get to enjoy loads of the ace things he does in our royal blue shirt.

Sleep well blues.
