Man City 3-1 Everton

Roberto Martinez´s unbeaten Premier League record as Everton manager was brought to an end at Manchester City.

Everton had taken an early lead at the Etihad Stadium through Romelu Lukaku but the hosts hit back through an Alvaro Negredo strike and a brace from Sergio Aguero.

Romelu Lukaku’s had put Everton into a 16th-minute lead, ghosting past Joleon Lescott and stroking past Joe Hart.

Everton´s lead lasted less than a minute. Yaya Toure´s exquisite Toure pass through Everton´s defence found Negredo who was left with the simple task to finish beyond Tim Howard. 1-1.

Man City took the lead just before half time, when Silva slid a perfectly weighted pass down the right-hand side of the box and Aguero struck a first-time shot across Howard and into the net.

City’s third goal came from the penalty awarded by the inept referee Jon Moss after Pablo Zabaleta dived to ground in the 68th minute. Aguero took it, his effort rebounding from the post onto the back of Tim Howard’s head and in.
