Phil Jagielka has admitted he is not fully fit and ‘needs’ England’s pre-tournament friendlies to sharpen up for the World Cup.
Jags featured in Everton’s final two games of the season after missing the previous 11 matches with a hamstring injury and although he acknowledged he wasn’t 100% fit, he did say he felt really good.
“I could do with these couple of games before the World Cup just to sharpen up,”
“Warm-weather training last week was a little bit difficult, and it will be difficult this week but it is something I need. I do not feel 100% fit but I do feel really good at the moment,”
