Tottenham Hotspur have told Everton that it will cost £6 million to make Aaron Lennon’s loan move permanent at the end of the season.
Lennon, who will be 28 next month, joined the Toffees on loan in January, and he’s started to rediscover some of his best form in recent weeks with a winning goal against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday following a man-of-the-match performance against Newcastle United a week earlier.
Manager Roberto Martinez is planning signings for next season, but will have to weigh up whether to commit that much to the former England winger.
Lennon, whose contract at Spurs expires in 2016, has already expressed a desire to remain at Goodison Park.
“I’m enjoying my time here and I have done since the moment I arrived,” he said. “Long may it continue.”
