Everton can hit form in next five games

Defeat on Saturday at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium extended Everton’s run to three games without a win. Despite the loss in North London, the Toffees remain handily placed in the Premier League table in 11th place, two points off seventh spot, currently occupied by Crystal Palace.

The fixture list has not been kind to Roberto Martinez in October, however, things to do get easier at the back end of the month and into November.

Here is at look at what is the come for the Toffees in their next five games:-

Everton v Norwich – Tuesday, 27th October – League Cup 4th round

Although the Premier League is a priority at this stage of the season, a cup run in the League Cup would do Everton no harm at all. Martinez will no doubt rest a few of his players but you’d still expect him to field a strong team and one which would be strong favourites in the football betting to get past Norwich who are leaking goals at the moment.

The Toffees have never won the League Cup, however, they have twice reached the final, finishing runners-up in 1977 and 1984.

Everton v Sunderland – Sunday, 1st November – Premier League

Sunderland moved off the bottom of the Premier League table at the weekend thanks to a victory over Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby. Despite beating their local rivals 3-0 at the Stadium of Light, that is their sole victory of the campaign in 10 games.

Since Big Sam arrived at Sunderland, the Black Cats have limited the number of mistakes they were making. That said, Everton should be able to exploit their weaknesses as the North East club are one of the favourites to be relegated at the end of the season.

West Ham v Everton – Saturday, 7th November – Premier League

The Hammers have made an excellent start to their campaign this season with Slaven Bilic in charge so this is the toughest challenge that Everton will be faced with in their next five games. Despite West Ham’s impressive start, they have been better on the road than they have been at Upton Park where they have suffered defeat to Bournemouth and Leicester so far in the campaign.

Everton v Aston Villa – Saturday, 21st November – Premier League

Aston Villa are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League after their latest defeat to Swansea. That loss cost manager Tim Sherwood his job so it remains to be seen who will in charge by the time the Villains travel to Goodison Park at the back end of November.

Villa have been poor in all areas so far this season so Everton should be strong for the visitors and be able to wrap up all three points.

Bournemouth v Everton – Saturday, 28th November – Premier League

Bournemouth made a solid start to their debut season in the Premier League but recently the wheels seem to have come off. The loss of Callum Wilson for six months did not help them, while other injuries in their squad have hindered the Cherries.

The Premier League newcomers were thrashed 5-1 by Tottenham at the weekend in front of their home crowd and the pressure in starting to build on them.
