Everton have completed the signing of Wayne Rooney on a 2-year-deal.
Rooney had been widely tipped to return to Everton, with both Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh talking up the prospect in February.
13 years after leaving Goodison Park for Manchester United, the 31-year-old called time on his illustrious United career after falling out of favour, being limited to just 15 Premier League starts last season and losing his place in the England squad.
His arrival is the latest in a major ambitious Everton rebuild, with almost £100 million being spent on five new signings already this summer, with a £40 million move for Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson and £20m move for Olivier Giroud in the pipeline.
