Kieran Dowell received more plaudits from Nottingham Forest fans this week after contributing to both goals in the win over Middlesbrough and putting in a decent performance in the loss to Barnsley.
Joe Williams, on the other hand, came in for some criticism after Barnsley’s two matches, being praised on one hand for his effort but his passing and timing of tackles leaving something to be desired.
Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway also appeared in both Sunderland’s matches. Browning seems to be having a steady if unspectacular start to his loan spell, while the unfortunate Galloway appears to be losing confidence rapidly – some Sunderland fans described the Saturday performance as the worst they had seen by a left back for their team – and he came off injured just after half time against Leeds.
Antonee Robinson was an unused sub in both Bolton’s matches.
Still no word on the severity of Matthew Pennington‘s ankle injury, but praise was forthcoming from his fellow Leeds defender Jansson, who is Swedish and said Pennington reminded him of his international colleague Manchester United’s Lindelof.
Henry Onyekuru was a second-half sub in Anderlecht’s defeat to Charleroi.
