Spurs v Everton

Top four chasing Spurs welcome Everton to Wembley as the Toffees look to end a five game winless run.

Sam Allardyce’s honeymoon period at the Blues is truly over.

After being unbeaten in his first seven games, things were looking up, but three defeats on the bounce since have dented optimism.

September’s 3-0 hammering at the hands of Spurs lives fresh in the memory as one of Everton’s lowest points of a dismal season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s troops currently sit fifth in the division, three points separating them from fourth placed Liverpool.

But the Argentine boss won’t be best pleased with the side he led to second place last campaign.
The North Londoners have already lost one more league game in 22 fixtures this year than they did in the whole of the 2016/17 season.

Spurs have only suffered one loss (to runaway leaders Manchester City) in their last 10 clashes in all competitions.

Tottenham are also unbeaten against Everton in their last 10 clashes, so it’s a given they will be confident going into this one.

One to watch

Spurs boast a number of superstars in their ranks, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen to name a few, but Harry Kane is the danger man.

The England striker has four goals in his last two meetings with the Blues and the league’s top scorer will fancy his chances to add to his already impressive 18 goals on Saturday evening.

Team news

The hosts will have to cope without midfielder Harry Winks due to an ankle injury. He joins Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose on the sidelines.

£27 million-man Cenk Tosun is in line for his Everton debut at Wembley and Idrissa Gueye is fit and ready to come back into the 11. Michael Keane is still out.

Man in the middle

Craig Pawson will take the whistle for this one. He awarded Everton a penalty at Anfield in December.
