Blues prepare for life without Allardyce

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is ready to dismiss Sam Allardyce just a third of the way into an 18-month deal, according to various reports.

Allardyce has found himself under pressure after only winning five of the 15 fixtures he’s taken charge of as Everton boss since his appointment in November.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Paulo Fonseca and now unemployed Marco Silva were two of the front runners to replace Ronald Koeman but a deal couldn’t be struck with Shakhtar or Watford at the time.

But it seems Moshiri hasn’t gave up on either of the Portuguese managers just yet, although there is doubts over Silva because of the sour end of his short tenor at Vicarage Road.

‘Sources close to Moshiri’ are reporting the Iranian, who celebrated two years at the Blues earlier in the week, is keen on a ‘younger, more dynamic coach to take the club forward’.

Surprisingly, former Barcelona chief Luis Enrique and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone are being mentioned alongside Fonseca and Silva as potential suitors to take the reins if Allardyce is moved aside after the season is over.
