The race for seventh is well and truly on, so Everton can’t afford to get complacent when they travel to already relegated Fulham this weekend.
The Toffees find themselves in a fine vein of form having won their last three outings against Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal, all without conceding a goal.
Fulham’s swift return to the Championship was confirmed in their last fixture, Scott Parker’s team were embarrassed at Vicarage Road as Watford ran out 4-1 winners.
Former England midfielder Parker is yet to pick up a single point since replacing Claudio Ranieri as interim boss in February.
In fact, the Londoners haven’t picked up a point since late January, when they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Craven Cottage, their winless run stretches back nine games.
Everton have an excellent record against the Cottagers, in their last ten clashes in the league, the Toffees are unbeaten — winning eight.
The reverse fixture proved to be an easy victory for Everton, two Gylfi Sigurdsson strikes and a goal from Cenk Tosun sealed a 3-0 win at Goodison.
The Blues’ last game at Craven Cottage came in 2014, when Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith saved the day, with Roberto Martinez’s side winning 3-1.
A win could see Everton finish the weekend in seventh.
One to watch
Aleksandar Mitrovic has been Fulham’s shining light in a dark season for the club.
The big Serbian striker has popped up with ten league goals this season and will be desperate to add more to his tally before the end of the campaign to impress potential suitors in the summer.
Despite keeping five clean sheets in their last six games, the sheer size and brute strength of Mitrovic could cause Jordan Pickford and co. problems on Saturday afternoon.
Team news
Michael Keane could return after missing out on the Blues’ 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.
Yerry Mina is still out.
Marcus Bettinelli and Lazar Markovic will miss out on this one, Alfie Mawson will be assessed.
Man in the middle
Lee Probert will take charge of the clash. In 26 games this season he has shown 80 yellow cards and eight reds.
