Everton have opened talks with Chelsea over the transfer of Kurt Zouma, according to the telegraph.
Marco Silva stressed the importance of keeping hold of Zouma and Gomes this summer after the pair played on loan at Everton last season.
After agreeing a deal with Barcelona and the transfer of Andre Gomes reportedly imminent, Everton have now moved to try and acquire Kurt Zouma.
Chelsea still have a transfer ban looming over their heads despite their attempts to appeal and Marco Silva will hope that doesn’t prevent him from signing Zouma, who stood out for the Toffees last term while on a season-long temporary deal from Chelsea.
His fine form for Everton saw Didier Deschamps recall him to the France squad for their games against Turkey, Andorra and Andorra.
