Carlo Ancelotti is allowing his players to be ‘free’ at the moment, knowing he’ll be given time to prepare well for games once football restarts.
Ancelotti told evertonfc.com “At this moment my staff is working with the players to show them videos – to try to explain what they did well and what they did wrong in the matches.
“The videos are prepared by the scouting staff, then sent to the player and we [player and staff member] check them together.
“The staff are in touch with the players every day – one member has four players to check on.
“We send the players [physical] exercises and everything is okay – they are healthy.
“It is important as much as anything to keep them safe and in good health.”
“I have watched videos of the games since my arrival to try to learn from the mistakes we made in those games and to try to improve,” he explained.
“Our goal is to finish the season well and to try to be competitive in all the games – not like the last [at Chelsea], which was not good.
“We have to finish well, then see if there is a possibility to plan the next season.
“Nobody knows exactly what will happen [with a resumption date] – we are waiting for the advice and to see what will happen.”
“I don’t speak a lot with the players, I have individual chats with some but not all of them,” said Ancelotti.
“I want to leave them to be free at this moment.
“I know they are working and are professional.
“When we restart we are going to have time to prepare well for the games, so at this moment I prefer to leave them free.
“I speak with the staff every day and I stay in contact with the board.”
