Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Everton will appeal Lucas Digne three match suspension.
The Toffees’ unbeaten start to the season came to an end in a 2-0 defeat at Southampton, with Lucas Digne shown a straight red card by referee Kevin Friend in the 72nd minute.
Carlo Ancelotti: “I think so [it was harsh], we’re going to appeal. It was not intentional, it was not violent conduct. It could be a yellow card but it wasn’t violent conduct and the red card was unfair.
“It was not a good day and it was not a good performance. We’re here to talk about the first defeat and I feel we have to move forward. Of course, we don’t like to lose games but in football it happens. We have to move forward from this game with the same belief that we had when we arrived here. It can happen”.
