Everton has revealed a striking new away kit for the 2021/22 season that pays homage to one of the Club’s earliest strips.
The retro hummel offering is inspired by the kit worn by the Everton team of 1881/82 – a side that came to be nicknamed ‘The Black Watch’ – and is available to pre-order online or in store from today (Friday 21 May).
The black shirt with statement burnt orange sash and accompanying black shorts and black socks will be on sale in store, as well as online at evertondirect.com, from Friday 4 June, and will be worn by the First Team for Sunday’s final Premier League fixture of the season away at Manchester City.
The first wave of the 2021/22 training range is also available to pre-order now, ahead of release online and in-store on Friday 4 June.
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who took part in a photoshoot to launch the new away kit alongside teammates Lucas Digne and Ben Godfrey, added: “I know last year’s kit was very popular and I’m sure the fans will love this one, too.
“When you join this Club you are immediately made aware of its history and standing in the game – but also about the ambition, innovation and drive to take things forward.
“That’s what this kit represents. It’s a nod to the past but it’s cool, current, and uses the latest eco technology. I can’t wait to walk out in this kit and hopefully see Evertonians packing out away ends like we know they always do.”
