Everton have now approached La Liga side Almeria for 21-year-old striker El Bilal Toure, who registered seven goals in 21 games last season.
The Blues have reportedly offered the young forward a five-year contract in a deal worth £34m as Sean Dyche looks to strengthen his depleted forward line.
That is according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who broke the news via his Twitter account confirming Everton’s bid.
However, the Toffees are likely to face competition for Toure’s signature, with Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Wolves also in the mix.
Italian side Atalanta have also been linked with a move for Toure, but with Everton missing out on Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres, the Almeria forward could be a viable alternative.
Indeed, Gyokeres has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park since last January and with Everton keen to reignite their interest this summer, it seemed like a deal could reached between all parties.
The Swedish international made it clear that he was eager to move on to pastures new, and with just one year remining on his existing deal, Everton were one of the clubs looking to secure his signature.
However, Portuguese side Sporting CP look to have won the race for acquiring Gyokeres, though Mali international El Bilal Toure could be an exciting prospect for the Toffees.
With a goal every three games, Toure had an impressive campaign for relegation-threatened Almeria and at just 21-years-old, the young forward has bags of potential.
With a £34m bid tabled, Toure is a player that Sean Dyche is very eager to recruit, and given his limited options upfront, it is no surprise that he is prioritising a forward this summer.
Everton must bring in at least one centre-forward before next season, and 21-year-old El Bilal Toure could be an interesting signing, should he make the move to Goodison Park.
