Everton are in talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Anthony Elanga.
Elanga, 21, was close to joining Everton on loan on transfer deadline day in January but United blocked the move at the 11th hour.
Since then, Elanga did not start again for United all season and the club have halved his valuation to £10million.
In the current calendar year, Elanga, the Swedish international, has only appeared in one match, which was against Charlton in the League Cup on January 10. During the last season, he was left out of United’s matchday squads for 10 out of the last 13 Premier League games.
Elanga’s last appearance in the Premier League was as a substitute in United’s heavy 7-0 defeat against Liverpool on March 5. His most recent game was a brief three-minute appearance in United’s disappointing Europa League loss to Sevilla on April 20.
Since his debut in May 2021, Elanga has represented United in 55 matches and has scored four goals. Although he initially made his debut under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he gained prominence during Ralf Rangnick’s temporary tenure, where he started in 16 matches.
