Report: Everton could now offload midfield duo who have yet to play under Sean Dyche

Everton could offload midfielders Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin this summer as the club’s overhaul under Sean Dyche continues.

Neither player has featured for Everton since Dyche took charge of the club, with Gomes spending last season on loan at French side Lille, while Gbamin spent the season at Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the pair could be shown the exit door with Gomes attracting the attention of Saudi Pro League sides.

Gbamin meanwhile is a player of interest for Olympique Lyonnais, as well as an unnamed German Bundesliga clubs, however the Ivory Coast international remains sidelined through injury.

Everton should now cash in on Gomes and Gbamin

Andre Gomes initially joined the Blues on loan from Barcelona in 2018 and after a successful spell, the Portuguese international made the move permanent the following summer in a £22m deal.

Gbamin joined Gomes at Goodison Park a matter of weeks later, joining from German side Mainz 05 for a fee of £25m as Marco Silva sought a replacement for the PSG-bound Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Despite a combined fee of £47m, the midfield duo have had a limited impact at Goodison Park to say the least, with injuries a constant source of frustration.

Indeed, just four months after agreeing a permanent move to Everton, Gomes suffered an ankle injury during a home tie against Spurs, with the 30-year-old failing to rediscover the form that prompted the Toffees to make his loan permanent.

Gbamin meanwhile has made just six Premier League appearances for the club and has subsequently been replaced by the very player he was brought in to take over from, Idrissa Gana Gueye.

With neither player likely to have a future at the club, now would be the ideal time to cash in on the midfield duo so Sean Dyche can reinvest in key areas of the pitch.
