Everton now interested in ‘natural goalscorer’ Patson Daka this summer – Myers

Everton are now interested in signing 24-year-old forward Patson Daka from Leicester City this summer.

Indeed, the ‘natural goalscorer’ has now emerged as a transfer target for Sean Dyche’s side as the Toffees continue the search for striking reinforcements.

As per Alan Myers’ Twitter account, Everton could make an approach for the Zambian striker, who has scored nine goals in 53 games during his time at the Foxes.

Myers tweeted: “Everton are interested in signing Leicester City forward Patson Daka, the 24 year old former Red Bull Salzburg man has scored 9 goals in 53 appearances for the midlands club.”

Daka scored four goals and contributed as many assists in a struggling Leicester City side last season, and though his overall time at the King Power Stadium has been a disappointment, his record in Europe is outstanding.

Indeed, Daka scored 54 goals in 82 games for Red Bull Salzburg and if he could rediscover anything close to that kind of form, he could be a very shrewd signing by Sean Dyche.

Patson Daka has versatility and an eye for goal, he could be a strong signing for Everton

The 24-year-old is renowned for being a hard-worker and willing to fulfil defensive responsivities, which will no doubt be a motivation for Sean Dyche.

The Toffees have so far added Arnaut Danjuma to their attack, signing him on a year long loan, while Sporting CP forward Youseff Chermiti had a medical scheduled with the club this week.

However, as if to emphasize the importance of this transfer window, Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League opener against Fulham.

At the right price, Daka could be a decent signing for Everton, though with his current deal running until 2026, it remains unclear what kind of fee Leicester City would be after for the Zambian.

With a matter of days until Everton welcome Fulham, hopefully we begin to see some more movement from the club soon.
