Everton fan group NSNOW have released an open letter to the club and Everton fans ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
The letter, released via NSNOW’S Twitter account, states that while the club may struggle once again, the fan group will ‘fight tooth and nail’ for the players at Goodison Park.
Indeed, Everton fans have demonstrated on a grand scale over the past two years in particular that they are ‘a true force to be reckoned with’, with some of the scenes both inside and out of Goodison Park truly breath-taking.
With Everton facing the drop during the 2021/22 season, fans united to arrange a coach greeting ahead of each fixture, as blue smoke filled the air outside of the stadium.
Describing the impact of such a display of support following Everton’s crucial 1-0 over Chelsea, the then manager Frank Lampard said: “It’s special. It’s not the norm, coming in today to see the fans. The understanding and feeling for the players to understand what it means to the fans is special.
If it doesn’t give you goosebumps and doesn’t get you ready to go out and give everything, then there’s something wrong with you. You shouldn’t be playing the game.”
The Toffees found themselves in danger once again last season, and once again rallied around the team with vociferous and vocal support.
Indeed, arguably, were it not for the passionate fanbase, Everton could well be playing Championship football right now, and the Goodison crowd will likely be crucial once again this year.
Sean Dyche has a tough job on his hands and has yet to add to free agent Ashley Young and loan-signing Arnaut Danjuma ahead of Saturday’s clash with Fulham.
It may be another long campaign for Everton, but there is no doubt that the fans will ‘fight tooth and nail’ for the Blues each week.
