‘Everton trying’: Toffees ‘in talks’ for loan deal for £30m Hugo Ekitike – Romano

Everton are now reportedly in talks with PSG for 21-year-old forward Hugo Ekitike, with a loan deal proposed by the Blues.

Indeed, the Toffees are ‘trying’ to secure the French prospect on a season-long loan, but PSG want the option to buy at the end of the year to be mandatory, with a total fee of around £30m.

That is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano who reported the news via his Twitter account, revealing that there are ‘a lot of clubs keen’ on the young forward.

Romano tweeted: “More on Hugo Ekitike. Everton in talks over loan deal with buy option clause to become mandatory – but PSG want €35m total package.

Negotiations continue, early stages and a lot of clubs keen on Ekitike but Everton trying.”

Hugo Ekitike would be a brilliant signing for Everton

The 21-year-old forward is exceptionally highly rated and would be an excellent signing for the Toffees this summer.

Everton were the second lowest goalscorers in the Premier League last season and remained in the division by just two points.

It is no secret that Sean Dyche is in the market for attacking players this summer, and a loan deal for 21-year-old Ekitike would be quite the signing.

The youngster has previously come close to joining Newcastle United, with a £25m deal agreed in January 2022 when the striker was still at Reims.

Indeed, there will no doubt be a number of clubs after the PSG prospect this summer and Everton must act fast, having already missed out on a number of key targets.

El Bilal Toure preferred a move to Atalanta while Viktor Gyokeres opted to move to Sporting CP, with the Blues left red-faced on both occasions.

Everton have been very trying this summer, but if Fabrizio Romano is correct, at least they are ‘trying’ to sign a quality young talent.
