Report: European side approach ‘brilliant’ Patson Daka who’s been linked with Everton this summer

French side Monaco have reportedly approached Leicester City over a move for Everton target Patson Daka.

The ‘brilliant’ Daka has been linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer as Sean Dyche continues his search for a centre-forward.

However, according to French publication L’Equipe, the Zambian international could be the subject of a bid from Monaco.

The 24-year-old was absent from Leicester City’s squad last weekend for their Championship tie at Huddersfield Town, indicating that his future may lie away from the King Power Stadium.

Indeed, after the game, the Foxes’ coach Enzo Maresca hinted that the absentees from his match day squad could be related to the transfer speculation surrounding their future.

Maresca said: “The players that were not in the squad today, it was because of a technical decision for some of them, and for some of them, I thought it was better for them to stay at home.

But that doesn’t mean that in the next game they won’t be involved. It was just for today.”

Everton must make a move on Patson Daka imminently or face losing another striking option

Patson Daka moved to Leicester City in 2021 in a £23m deal with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg and has scored 15 goals in 74 appearances for the Foxes during that time.

The Zambian scored four goals in 36 games at the King Power Stadium last season but has yet to feature this campaign with his future at the club uncertain.

Everton have made four additions to the squad so far this summer, with Jack Harrison the latest addition as he joins on loan from Leeds United.

However, the Toffees desperately need to add firepower to the forward line, as was further evidenced by the dreadful finishing on display during last week’s 1-0 defeat to Fulham.

Indeed, Patson Daka looks likely to leave Leicester City this summer, but if he is to move to Merseyside, Everton will need to act fast with Monaco looking interested.
