Everton are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi, though face competition from other Premier League clubs.
The ‘incredible’ 22-year-old had verbally agreed a deal that would see him move to Marco Silva’s Fulham side, though the Cottagers are reportedly reluctant to meet the £8m valuation.
Indeed, Fulham’s hesitation to secure the midfielder’s signature could allow Everton to swoop for the Chelsea player, though Nottingham Forest are also reportedly interested.
That is according to the Evening Standard, who report that the player is willing to take a significant wage cut to get his stalled career back on track away from Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, though he made just 14 league appearances in Germany, contributing one assist during that time.
Hudson-Odoi did manage to score a Champions League goal for Leverkusen however, in a 2-2 draw away at Atletico Madrid.
The midfielder was considered one of England’s brightest young talents following his breakthrough at Stamford Bridge in 2018, though his career has somewhat stalled since then.
Indeed, in the summer of 2019, Chelsea rejected a £22.5m bid from Bayern Munich for the Wandsworth-born player, with a £30m rejected the following January as the German giants reignited their interest.
It seems that Hudson-Odoi may need to leave Stamford Bridge to get his career back on track and he could be a decent signing for Sean Dyche.
There is no doubt of his attacking ability, though the 22-year-old has had little time to develop at Chelsea and would no doubt benefit from the regular first-team football he would get at Goodison Park.
With Fulham stalling over the asking price, it could be an opportunity for the Toffees to swoop in for the Chelsea star.
