Report: 31-year-old Premier League forward linked with Sean Dyche reunion at Everton

West Ham United forward Danny Ings is the latest name to be linked with a move to Everton this summer.

The 31-year-old previously played under Sean Dyche during his time at Burnley and the Everton boss is keen on a reunion at Goodison Park.

That is according to the Daily Mirror, who report that Everton would like to add Ings to the forward line following the £26m signing of Portuguese forward Beto from Serie A side Udinese.

However, as per reports in The Times, the former England international would prefer to remain at the Hammers and fight for his place at the London Stadium.

The Toffees were linked with Ings last January during the club’s unsuccessful search for a centre-forward, though the 31-year-old favoured a move to West Ham following a two-year spell at Villa Park.

The forward has netted two Premier League goals in 19 outings for David Moyes’ side since January and could soon be shown the exit door after just eight months.

However, Ings has reportedly turned down the chance to move to Goodison Park, despite limited playing time at West Ham United.

Danny Ings not as prolific as Beto but is still a reinforcement option

The Toffees have finally announced the signing of Beto this afternoon after a long drawn out search for a striker, with the 25-year-old joining Youssef Chermiti in Everton’s new-look forward line.

Sean Dyche’s side are yet to score this season and after three Premier League defeats on the bounce, the addition of the 6ft 4in target man will hopefully end the goal drought.

However, whether or not Ings remains at West Ham could depend on their own search for a new centre-forward, with the Hammers linked with PSG attacker Hugo Ekitike, who is also reportedly on Everton’s radar.

Ings is yet to get off the mark for the 2023/24 Premier League season, but so are Everton, and the next few weeks already feel very important to the future of the club.
