West Ham United forward Maxwell Cornet could reunite with his former boss Sean Dyche by sealing a move to Everton before Friday’s deadline.
The ‘excellent’ attacker played under the Toffees’ boss during his spell at Turf Moor, where he scored nine Premier League goals in 26 games, also contributing one assist.
His impressive performances at Turf Moor secured him a £17.5m move to David Moyes’ West Ham United last summer, but injuries plagued the 26-year-old last season.
Indeed, in a disappointing time at the London Stadium, the Ivory Coast international made just 14 Premier League appearances for the Hammers and failed to score or register an assist during that time.
However, according to the Daily Mail (print edition, 30 August, page 64), Cornet could reunite with Sean Dyche at Goodison Park before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Capable of playing both upfront and out wide, Cornet’s versatility could be a real asset to Sean Dyche this season in a move that could suit all parties.
The 26-year-old will no doubt want to rediscover the ‘excellent’ form he was in under Dyche and Everton could be in the market for another attacker before the window shuts.
Demarai Gray could yet seal his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab, while Alex Iwobi has been linked with a move to Craven Cottage.
Cornet favors his left foot and could provide Dyche with on option on the wing, however with four years remaining on his deal at West Ham, David Moyes’ side would be keen to recoup as much of the £17.5m fee they spent on him last summer.
The Toffees are also interested in Southampton attacker Kamaldeen Sulemana with the Saints reportedly wanting as much as £30m for the Ghanaian, who is keen on a move away from St Mary’s this summer.
