Report: Everton could reignite interest in PSG forward Hugo Ekitike in January

Everton could reignite their interest in PSG forward Hugo Ekitike in January with the 21-year-old looking likely to leave the Parc des princes.

The Toffees were linked with the young striker during the summer transfer window alongside a number of Premier League sides, though no deal materialised with Crystal Palace eventually seeing a deadline day approach rejected.

Indeed, tomorrow’s opponents Brentford are said to admire the forward, with Everton, West Ham United and Wolves all reportedly monitoring the situation in Paris.

That is according to 90MIN, who report that PSG manager Luis Enrique is looking for Ekitike to make an impact in the next few months, or a January departure will be likely.

Everton have substantial work to do if they are to convince Hugo Ekitike to choose them over PL rivals

The 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in the French capital just 12 months after he arrived in Paris from Reims.

PSG had reportedly attempted to offload the 6ft 2in striker to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt as part of the deal to sign Kolo Muani, but despite initially being tempted by the move, Ekitike rejected the proposal.

90MIN report that the youngster is not ready to give up on fulfilling his potential at PSG, though England is considered to be his most likely destination should he move on from PSG.

Former club Reims are also said to be interested in a reunion with the young forward alongside fellow French sides Lens and Olympique Lyonnais, with all three proposing a loan deal.

Hugo Ekitike’s debut season in Paris saw him score four goals and contribute four assists in 32 games in all competitions, though with just one appearance to his name so far this campaign, the young forward is struggling to make an impact in the French capital.
