Everton have been linked with an approach for AZ Alkmaar manager Pascal Jansen should they decide to part company with Sean Dyche.
Jansen was recently considered to be a potential successor to David Moyes at West Ham United when it looked as if that’s Scot’s time at the London Stadium was up.
However, the former Everton boss remained at the Hammers and ended up lifting the UEFA Conference League, defeating Jansen’s AZ on the way to the final.
Indeed, 50-year-old Jansen continues to do an impressive job at the Eredivisie side, with AZ currently second in the table behind PSV Eindhoven having won all five of their opening fixtures this season.
His accomplishments have caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, with the Toffees reportedly keen on Jansen should they part company with Sean Dyche.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who report that the Toffees are not currently planning to replace Dyche, but Jansen tops the list of potential candidates should a replacement be required at some point.
Crystal Palace are also reportedly keen on Jansen and see the London-born coach as a potential successor to Roy Hodgson, while SPL side Glasgow Rangers are also keeping an eye on proceedings.
Jansen has been in charge at AZ since December 2020 and currently has an overall win percentage of 54.84% in the Dutch top-flight.
Everton are currently on their seventh permanent manager since 2016 and it seems unlikely that there will be another managerial overhaul at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have needed stability in the dugout for some time and unless we find ourselves adrift in the relegation zone at some point this season, Sean Dyche will likely see Everton through the 2023/24 campaign.
However, if Dyche can provide some stability on the pitch, perhaps Jansen could be his long-term successor at some point in the near future.
