Everton boss Sean Dyche has praised the attitude of his players after two wins on the spin, but has demanded that this form continues at home to Luton today.
The Toffees host Luton Town today on the back of two impressive away victories and Sean Dyche insists the ‘relentless attitude’ shown by his players has been a point of pride in recent games.
Speaking with the Everton website, Dyche said: “I am pleased with the relentless attitude of the players to keep performing, that’s a key factor when results aren’t going your way.
You can’t just wait for them to happen, you have to make them happen. I think in the last two performances, we have done that.”
However, the Everton boss does not want to see his players become complacent and insists the visitors will pose a threat to the Toffees’ winning streak, insisting that his side has ‘got to deliver’.
Dyche continued: “There’s an expectation at Everton Football Club [to win] every game. That’s been made very clear to me since I have been here. Every game is winnable and every game we go in to win it.
Luton are working hard in games, so we have got to deliver a performance. We certainly take nobody lightly, that’s for sure, and the players know that.”
Luton game an opportunity for Everton to get off the mark at Goodison
The Blue are yet to score a goal in front of the Goodison crowd so far this season following three home defeats on the bounce to Fulham, Wolves and Arsenal.
Luton meanwhile are yet to win and have a solitary point to their name, a situation compounded by an embarrassing League Cup exit to League One side Exeter City midweek.
A win for Everton today would be a huge step in the right direction and with Bournemouth at home next week, this is a chance to start getting some points on the board.
