‘We have the potential’: Jack Harrison eager to build on Bournemouth win

Everton winger Jack Harrison is eager to build on the 3-0 victory over Bournemouth but warns against complacency with so many games still to play.

The loan signing scored his first goal in an Everton shirt as the Blues went into the international break with a much-needed 3-0 win over the Cherries.

Indeed, 26-year-old Jack Harrison believes the Toffees ‘have the potential’ to climb the table, though insists that it is important ‘not to get carried away’.

Speaking with the official Everton website, Harrison said: “With the expected goals, we should have a lot more points in the league. I think it’s a credit to the talent we have in the squad that we’re able to continue playing like that.

It’s important not to get carried away with it. We know there’s a long season ahead of us, but it’s definitely a performance we can look back on and say: ‘We can be more like this.’

Again, there are a lot of improvements that can still be made. We have to keep pushing as high as we can in the league, and I think we have the potential to do that.”

Harrison is right, complacency can be difficult to overcome so caution is needed going forward

Everton’s inconsistent start to the season has already seen Goodison Park suffer a range of emotions in just a few short months.

Sean Dyche’s side have squandered winnable games with performances that perhaps deserved more, while other displays from the Toffees were embarrassingly poor – such as last month’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Indeed, the Jekyll & Hyde form continued with back-to-back away wins at Brentford and Aston Villa, followed by a 2-1 defeat at home to Luton Town.

A convincing victory over Bournemouth restored some pride ahead of the international break, though with a tough run of fixtures coming up, it would be wise not to get ‘carried away’.
