Everton could make an approach for Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window.
The Blues are just one of a number of Premier League clubs ‘monitoring’ the 21-year-old and could reignite their interest in the New Year.
The Rotterdam-born attacker was linked with a move to Goodison Park during the summer but remained at Leeds despite their relegation to the Championship.
However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Sean Dyche could once again look at Summerville, who scored twice during Leeds United’s 3-2 win at Norwich City on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter, Romano reported: “Crysencio Summerville with a brace today vs Norwich – he rejected several clubs in the summer to stay at #LUFC and feel key player there.
Bournemouth, Everton and Burnley were all interested.
…and more PL clubs are now monitoring Crysencio towards the January window.”
Summerville has scored four goals and contributed two assists in nine outings in the Championship so far this season, and it is unsurprising that his form is attracting the attention of Premier League clubs.
Sean Dyche added attacking width to his side in the summer with the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal, while Summerville’s Leeds United teammate Jack Harrison also arrived on a season-long loan.
However, at just 21-years-old, Summerville could be a shrewd addition to Everton’s attacking options, though there is clearly plenty of interest in the youngster.
The winger scored five goals and contributed six assists in 33 games in all competitions during the 2022/23 season, with four of those goals coming in Premier League fixtures.
It remains to be seen what kind of funds Sean Dyche will have to operate with during the January window, and with options out wide a winger may not be considered a priority.
However, with two of Everton’s current widemen on temporary deals, it could be an opportune time to secure a player on a permanent contract.
