Kieran Trippier is looking to depart Newcastle United before the transfer window closes, with Everton among the clubs interested in signing the England full-back, according to David Ornstein via the Athletic.
The former Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur defender, who turns 34 next month, still has two years remaining on his contract after signing an extension last season.
However, the player has become unsettled in the North East, as Newcastle manager Eddie Howe opted to select Tino Livramento at right-back in the club’s opening game of the season. Additionally, Trippier saw the captain’s armband, which he has worn for most of his time at St James’s Park, handed to teammate Bruno Guimaraes.
According to reports, Everton, looking to bolster their options in Trippier’s preferred position, have already held preliminary talks with Newcastle to explore the possibility of a loan move to Merseyside. Everton manager Sean Dyche is familiar with Trippier, having worked with him during their time together at Burnley between 2012 and 2015.
