“I’m very pleased. I think we’ve played better this season, but we haven’t won. So, the main thing was to get a win, find a win and find it however we could.
“First half, they were 1-0 up and we know we’ve got to correct things like this. But we know we can correct that with the right players on the pitch and the fitness levels. And then second half, we were very good. We managed the game very well and that’s been awkward. We all know there’s been a lot of noise about that.
“And late on, I think we more or less kept them to a quiet finish to the game and that was very pleasing for the players because you’ve got to find a way to win, of course, but you want to find that however it comes. And today was a bit of grit, two great quality moments and other quality moments we didn’t quite find, but defensively we looked solid.”
“I said at half time: ‘You’ve got to make a difference. Everyone’s got to make a difference. Don’t wait for someone else to make a difference.’
“That mentality’s got to grow, and I thought it did. A turnaround as well, we’ve been questioned about the many questions we’ve had during my time here, but we’ve been questioned about turning around games. We’ve done that.”
