Everton let a 2-0 lead slip, settling for a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
The Toffees took the lead in the 19th minute through Beto, who scored from a set-piece, and doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when Abdoulaye Doucouré headed in a rebound from Jack Harrison’s saved shot.
However, Manchester United fought back in the second half, with Bruno Fernandes pulling one back in the 70th minute from a set piece, followed by Manuel Ugarte’s equaliser in the 79th minute.
Everton were ‘robbed’ of a penalty in the dying seconds. Everton were initially awarded a penalty but VAR recommended referee Andy Madley review the decision at his screen.
And he overturned the decision when it seemed certain to be upheld.
