Ndiaye calmly converted from the spot in the 49th minute after referee Darren England pointed to the spot when Myles Lewis-Skelly clumsily brought down Jack Harrison in the box. The equaliser cancelled out Leandro Trossard’s 34th-minute opener for the visitors, ensuring the Blues claimed a deserved share of the spoils against Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing side.
Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with the game’s first shot on target, as a poor header in midfield gifted Raheem Sterling the chance to surge forward. He played a perfect ball to Trossard, who took a touch before slotting the ball low into the far right corner.
Everton were awarded a penalty just two minutes into the second half when Myles Lewis-Skelly fouled Jack Harrison inside the box. Ndiaye made no mistake, converting the spot-kick to score his ninth goal of the season across all competitions, leaving Arsenal’s faltering title aspirations in ruins.
